Off the end of Rattlesnake Island in Lake Erie, lie what once was part of the island long eroded and weathered into a series of large boulders known locally as "The Tail of the Rattlesnake" Crystal clear water, abundant forage and rapid access to deep water makes this area smallmouth bass paradise. Nicknamed "bronzeback" their golden flanks, verticle bars and penchant for acrobatics, make this one of my most favorite species.
